Define

We are defined by the people around us. It is not their existence that defines, but their characteristics. And it is not their being that makes us. We surround ourselves with our self. Our friends, our families, they show us glimpses into ourselves. We seek out what we are, what we want to be, what we desire, our strength, our weakness, our essential beings. It does not end at that, though. Even those being we read of, we watch, we create and act out, those we truly enjoy and identify with, those we invest in, they too are glimpses into ourselves. And when we glimpse at ourselves, we learn. We grow, and apply ourselves to ourselves in an attempt to outgrow those aspects that we don't desire anymore. So we continue finding those beings that are as ourself, and we project us onto them, to become what we wish to be. And in time, we too are projected upon, becoming that which we see.
